SLEEP CENTER

A good night's sleep is vital to a productive day, yet almost half of all adults experience some type of sleep disorder. There are more than 50 sleep disorders that cause difficulty in falling asleep, staying asleep or remaining awake during normal waking hours. While these disorders may lead to high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease, the good news is that most sleep disorders are treatable after an accurate diagnosis.

The Sleep Center at Lincoln Medical Center has the technology and expertise to diagnose and treat a variety of adult and pediatric sleep disorders. These include loud snoring, sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, narcolepsy, dependence on sleeping pills, sleep walking, night terrors and nightmares. It also, is the only sleep center in Lincolnton, N.C., that works with locally based physicians and has a staff with specialized credentials in sleep medicine.

The center's two-bedroom facility is open for testing five nights a week, Monday through Friday. All procedures are conducted by appointment only and through the referrals of the center's sleep physicians.

The Sleep Center is part of Carolinas HealthCare System's Carolinas Sleep Services. This affiliation gives it access to a large network of sleep specialists.
