Providing state-of-the-art x-ray, bone density, mammography, ultrasound, and additional imaging technology delivered by our knowledgeable staff and diagnosed by board-certified radiologists of Charlotte Radiology Group. After conducting focus groups with women in the East Lincoln community, Lincoln Medical Center concluded the need for mammography services and bone densitometry testing to be available outside the hospital setting. Opened May 2004, this free-standing imaging center allows for these routine exams to be conducted within a medical office setting, while still allowing all films to be read by board-certified radiologists of Charlotte Radiology Group without the need for a visit to the hospital. "This Imaging Services office has installed the PRODIGY^TM densitometer, which is designed by the GE Lunar Corporation and is the most advanced bone densitometer available. This machine measures the density of the spine, hip and other bones in just 30 seconds, which helps the radiologists identify potential risks at a much earlier stage," says Dawn Burke, radiology technologist at the Pavilion.

To provide Lincoln County women with the most advanced breast care technology, Lincoln Medical Center also purchased the Lorad M-IV Mammography System, a state-of-the-art breast cancer detection system designed to improve the quality and comfort of mammograms. The system produces high quality images that allow for better visualization of breast tissue, aiding in the early detection of breast cancer. Early detection has been shown to dramatically increase the survival rates of women afflicted with this deadly disease. This advanced system also includes features that reduce procedure times and improve patient comfort.
